- Dr. Cheng Lei is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor, deputy director of the Department of Operative Dentistry and Endodontics, West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University. He is mainly engaged in the clinical, teaching and research work of operative dentistry and endodontics. He was a visiting scholar and research fellow in the Academic Centre for Dentistry in Amsterdam (ACTA) and in the Dental School, University of Maryland at Baltimore (UMB). Dr. Cheng is now Fellow of the International College of Dentists (ICD), Committee member of the Society of Cariology and Endodontology, Chinese Stomatological Association(CSA), as well as Committee member of Society of Oral Biomedicine, Chinese Stomatological Association(CSA). In recognition of his achievements, he has been selected as “New Century Excellent Talents supporting programs” of the Ministry of Education of China, reserve candidate of Academic and Technical Leader in Sichuan Province, “10,000 Talents Program of Tianfu”. Dr. Cheng has published 69 academic papers, which is included in the Science Citation Indecx(served as the first and corresponding author), and 24 Chinese academic papers. He has been on Elsevier's list of “most cited Chinese researchers” for five consecutive years since 2014. Dr. Cheng has been the principle investigator(PI) of 16 projects, including grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He received many honors and awards during his academic career, including the Willian J. Gies Awards, which is one of the highest awards of the IADR(International Association for Dental Research), the second prize of the State Scientific&Technological Progress Award and the first prize of the Sichuan Science&Technology Progress Award.
